zoo poem

 Zoo poem by emilee pieper
One memory i can
Remember almost perfectly
When i went to the zoo with,
Darla,my mom,my little brother mason and my stepdad
In the car, mason was playing with a stuffed animal
Darla gave it to him it was a wombat
We took several pictures in the car
Of happiness and laughter

It may have taken a while
But finally we got there
We said we'd remember were we parked
I knew we would forget
My mom paid for our tickets
Apparently darla and i are 10

So we entered the zoo and started looking at animals
It was the middle of august 2012 so it was pretty hot
Almost all the animals were asleep because of the heat
At the tiger enclosure , a lizard creeped toward the sleeping tiger
The lizard leaped toward the tiger's face
The tiger jumped like a kangaroo

We stopped and got snacks and slushies
We slurped down the sweet but tangy slushies in less than a minute
Next was the polar bears and seals
I'm not sure if the animals really liked all the kids there
Ican remember hearing screaming toddlers

Finally after an hour or so  we left
We ate at Miguel's mexican resturant
Then we drove home in almost silence
We droppoed Darla off and went home
I hope that we can go to the Louisville Zoo again this year!
